PANews October 19 news: At the ParaFi Investor Day, Michael Saylor, founder and executive chairman of Strategy, proposed that his ideal "digital currency" should be pegged to the U.S. dollar, maintain extremely low price volatility, and provide an annualized yield of 6% to 8%. He called this goal a "Bitcoin-backed stablecoin," envisioning it as combining the functions of a medium of exchange, unit of account, and store of value, and usable for payments, collateral, and trading.
Saylor said this type of product should have high liquidity, allowing investors to exit after holding it for only a few days, similar to short-duration money market instruments. His idea is to use Bitcoin as the underlying capital and provide yield to holders through a digital credit structure, rather than Bitcoin itself directly generating interest.
He also discussed increasing the dividend frequency of Strategy's perpetual preferred stock STRC to daily, in order to reduce price volatility caused by ex-dividend dates, improve liquidity, and adapt to round-the-clock tokenized trading.
