PANews reported on September 26 that according to TheEnergyMag, documents submitted by Riot Platforms to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) showed that the company had voluntarily repaid all outstanding principal and accrued interest of Coinbase Credit on September 21, and terminated the credit line of US$200 million without incurring early termination fees or penalties. Coinbase's commitment to continue to provide loans was also terminated simultaneously. The loan, which had previously been fully drawn by Riot, carries a fixed annual interest rate of 6.15% and a revised maturity date of April 20, 2027. R
iot stated that as the loan is repaid, the security interests of the relevant BTC, USDC and cash collateral are simultaneously released. As of June 30, Riot had mortgaged 5,821 BTC, worth approximately US$340.7 million, accounting for approximately 51% of its total holdings of 11,380 BTC at the time.
Riot first obtained a $100 million Bitcoin mortgage loan in April 2025, and increased the amount to $200 million the following month; the repayment was approximately seven months ahead of the revised maturity date. At the same time, Riot is continuing to expand its data center business. In August, the company announced a 20-year agreement with an undisclosed AI developer to provide 191 megawatts of computing capacity at its Rockdale campus, with revenue expected to be approximately $9.1 billion during the initial period.
